Zhivago Blea
Bio:
"There's only one thing that makes Zhivago (yes, that really is his name) more proud than his Latino heritage and that's telling everyone about it (in English, of course). He gets so descriptive and goes into such vivid detail that, at times, you'd swear you were right there with him when it really happened, but glad you weren't. He regularly performs at The Comedy Store, The LA Improv and The Ice House and is featured on Comedy Central's "Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand-Up Revolution." Watch out for this guy. His name will become synonymous with laughter

The Fine Gentleman's Club Comedy Tour 2012 @ Buster's South Bay

Phat-Panda & Up Entertainment Productions Present: The Fine Gentleman's Club

A night of stand up comedy featuring the talents of Sam Tallent, Bobby Crane, Nathan Lund, and Chris Chris Charpentier on their TOUR MUCH FUN! ROAD SHOW SPRING 2012 and special guest Greg Kelly.

The show will be hosted by Dan Bublitz Jr. (http://www.danbublitz.com/) and Ben Garcia Reyes. $5 Cover 18+ Show!!! Doors open at 6:30 PM

The Fine Gentleman's Club is a collective of stand-up comedians based in the humor hotbed of Denver, Colorado. Comprised of Sam Tallent, Nathan Lund, Chris Charpentier and Bobby Crane (23 years combined experience in jokelife) the FGC are quickly cementing themselves as a dominant comedic force in any venue, from the Denver Art Museum ("the FGC are a creative dynamo, professional and they all look dashing in top hats") to the Colorado School of Mines ("I wish we could have you guys every week") to the Squire Lounge (Punchline Magazine's "Meanest Mic in America", hosted by Tallent). The Gents have opened for many of the best names in contemporary comedy: Doug Stanhope, Joe Rogan, Doug Benson, TJ Miller, Kyle Kinane, Rory Scovel, Dana Gould and many more. The Fine Gentleman's Club are proud to call the Denver Comedy Works their home club, and are even prouder of their weekly comedy showcase, Too Much Fun!, produced weekly at the Deer Pile Gallery, above City, O' City. However, they are proudest of Too Much Funstival!, a yearly, free, four-day celebration of all things awesome, curated by the FGC.

PRESS!

"Hip, messy, exhilarating comedy and indie music with a side of PBR from the rising troupe the Fine Gentleman’s Club. If Chris Charpentier, Bobby Crane, Nathan Lund and Sam Tallent continue at this rate, they’ll have created their own scene around their Wednesday night stand-up-and-music showcases."
-Denver Reverb.com's Best Stand-Up Shows of 2011.
"The city's most exciting, unforgiving open-mic is the stuff of comedy legend — both good and bad."

-Denver Post on the Squire Lounge

"Run by local hoodlums of hilarity, the Fine Gentleman's Club. Listen to hot tunes by hot DJs, drink some drinks, eat some eats and hopefully laugh without choking to death."

-Colorado Daily on Too Much Fun!

"Named after their weekly Too Much Fun stand-up and music showcase at the Rockaway Tavern, the Funstival is a sincere — if self-consciously hip — stab at community togetherness under the guise of comedy, music, games and, ahem, inflatable bouncy castles. The four-day festival, which kicked off Thursday at Vine Street Pub with stand-up, music and even a kissing booth, is as ambitious as any first-year, DIY event."

-John Wenzel, Denver Post A&E Reporter on Too Much Funstival

"Do you ever wish you could take everything you love about summer in Denver, put it together in one place, and just have a blast for a few days? That’s the idea behind Too Much Funstival!, a four-day radical event…"

-The Onion AV Club on Too Much Funstival

On Wednesday February 22nd, Comedy Night invades Buster's South Bay once again. Join us as we welcome some of San Diego's top talent, along with the occasional National Headliner.

Come early and sign up, or just enjoy up and comers, as well as seasoned pro's get 5 minutes to try one new, or un-tested material. It's always fun. The open mic starts at 7 pm, and show at 8 pm. Message for a reserve spot, post on event wall, or show up to be an alternate.

At 8 pm, we kick off our 2012 Comedy Nights. Five comics, in the best hour and a half of comedy you can get, for free. Parental discretion is advised, due to the All Age admission. Hosted By Benji Garcia, you're sure to have a good time. James Bailey, Matt Blagg, Jesse Egan, and Erik Knowles grace us with their comedy.

Headliner:

Erik Knowles

Bio:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Erik+Knowles

Erik Knowles did his first stand-up set in the fourth grade at a summer camp talent show. Even at just nine years old, his two minutes of Nickelodeon jokes killed. His next performance was in 1999 while he was in the Marine Corps. One of his superiors, noticing Erik’s ability to make his peers laugh, ordered him to do a stand-up routine at the upcoming squadron Christmas Party talent contest. Erik won the contest by making fun of the Commanding Officer. After he got out of the Marine Corps in 2003, he did his first open mic at the Comedy Store in La Jolla. After that, there was no stopping him. Over the next few years he went on to perform with such headliners as Sarah Silverman, Pauly Shore, Bobby Lee, Zach Galifianakis, John Lovitz, Bobby Slayton, Gene Pompa, Joey "Coco" Diaz, Carlos Alazraqui, and many, many more. He was a finalist at the California Comedy Festival, The World Series of Comedy in Las Vegas (2010), and has performed in comedy clubs and casinos, and military bases all over California, Arizona, Nevada, and Texas. Erik’s show leaves everyone satisfied. He looks back nostalgically, at his younger days in the Marines, boot camp, partying, and even a few war stories from his time in overseas in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He then contrasts that with a witty look at his adult life full of responsibilities, becoming a father, and his uncontrollable desire to challenge social stigmas. His comedy is refreshing and edgy without being filthy. Erik Knowles fits nicely into any lineup and is a perfect fit for any comedy club in the country.

Comedy Night! At Buster's South Bay January 25th

On Wednesday January 25th, Comedy Night returns to Buster's South Bay.

Headliner:
Spencer James
Bio:
"Its not just a dose of jokes.
Its Martin and Lewis, with a little dash of Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. mixed in.
Spencer James blends both music and dance into his standup for a show that's both anti "jobs" and yet pro "fat kids."
Mixing in an a capella' voice with a sharp tongue, Spencer has entertained audiences all over the country, from fishermen in Dutch Harbor, AK, made famous by the hit TV show "Deadliest Catch," to our troops in Hawaii while laying on the sand for the very first episode of "Lost."
While being sensitive to a ladies needs, he also somehow winds up saying the most insensitive thing at the worst possible moment. His reasoning for this?
Who knows, guess you'll find out at the show"
